HINENI LEARNING CENTRES

During the Covid pandemic, 5miles set up three Hineni Learning Centres in disadvantaged communities - B57, Bukit Senyum and Lobam - in Bintan to help students who were stuck at home and had no access to handphones, laptops for Home-Based Learning. Even though the children are now back in school, our teachers continue to guide them do their schoolwork and give extra tuition to the weaker students.

In 2023, we closed the Lobam centre to focus on the other two centres in Bukit Senyum (Red Light District) and B57 where the needs are greater. At Bukit Senyum, we run classes for preschoolers up to senior high school students. As of July 2024, more than 60 children attend our classes every day.

We also set up the Hineni Day Care Centre at Bukit Senyum to feed more than 20 children and provide bathing facilities for them.
