OUR PROGRAMMES

Towdah Sinar Batam Orphanage

Towdah Sinar Batam Orphanage is home to 21 children who are loved and looked after by our houseparents, Suarman and Rus. The children, from 2 to 18, come mainly from very poor families, or have been abandoned and rejected by their families. It is a privilege for us to be able to care for them and to raise them as God’s children. Every child who is able to attend school is given the opportunity to learn and fulfill his or her potential. After school, the children are exposed to skills such as carpentry and gardening. We also hope to include art, culinary skills and music into the after-school programme to identify the children’s gifts and develop these gifts for God’s service and glory.

We welcome partners who can train the children in any of the above skills and who can also help the children improve their English reading and conversational competency.
